As you can see, this ewe has not had babies yet but wow does she look like she is ready to pop!! I just can't believe she hasn't gone yet..any day. Zanex however did have her babies!
These little twin girls were born Wednesday night of last week. They were both up, dry and nursing when I went out to check on everyone one last time before going to bed. The 4 that have been born so far are all out of the same ram..Rex. As cute as they are, I have too many black sheep. These 4 will have to find new homes so I'm trying not to get too chummy...no names yet. They are so cute to watch! I feel bad that they have not been introduced to the outside world yet. It is just too wet here. I am having a heck of a time trying to keep everyone a dry, clean place to sleep!

I have NO black sheep.... Why are you all so far away? Don't answer that. Within four weeks I am going to have twice as many sheep as I have room for here, and will be scrambling to find new homes for half of them!
I wish you were closer Michelle..I could fix you up. They are really nice but a person only needs so much black wool!!
Nancy, Zanex is such a good mom..I used her black iset wool in a braided rug..I need to sew it together first and then I'll post a picture for you to see...her wool is perfect for rugs.
Sheila, have you overdyed your black wool? Some of the most gorgeous, rich yarn colors I ever saw - red, deep blue and green - were overdyed black Shetland. I don't know for sure what dye was used, but the creator of those lovely yarns was Marybeth Bullington; she's on the Shetland list so you could ask her.
Thanks for the tip Michelle, I wouldn't know where to start but I'll have to ask her..that's a great idea!! So much to learn but it is fun to try new things..now if I could just find a few more hours in the day!
